Wildlife photography hosting and workshops. Pricing and dates coming soon!
Welcome to one and all. If you are reading this you are already a step closer to taking a photographic journey that will reward you greatly in ways you never expected. My intention is not only to help you learn the field craft required to capture interesting and compelling images of nature but also to promote a mindfulness approach to your life which if applied in the field can greatly improve your photography.
I am planning to offer small group guided wildlife photography trips and safaris and also small group workshops for intermediate to advanced photographers although any photographer with a basic knowledge of how to use their camera I would consider teaching.
I have a new relationship developed with Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge in Hoedspruit, South Africa with access to the world renowned Big Five Kruger National Park. www.cheetahpaw.com is a brand new luxury lodge and I am very excited to be able to work with them to bring guests to this part of South Africa.
I intend to pass on the knowledge of specific skills required for creating not just consistently good quality natural history captures in participants images but taking students beyond the obvious into the realm of genuinely creative and compelling image making as well as effective story telling in single images as well as a series.
I will also offer this teaching in tandem with how to post process images properly from RAW files using popular software like Adobe Lightroom and more advanced software like Capture One so that students can gain the knowledge of the full workflow from capture right through to web publishing and printing.
Due to the diversity of genres that I photograph and have a proven track record of international recognition in a variety of photographic fields, this has allowed me over the years to apply different techniques to my wildlife and landscape work. I do this so as to keep thinking in fresh ways about image making and I would now like to teach what I have learned to others and how I apply techniques from different disciplines to possibly the most challenging of genres: wildlife photography!
The knowledge and experience I am going to share with you will bring you all closer to nature and help you to learn animal behaviour as well as being patient and wait for the right moments to trip the shutter. This is not about just getting sharp in focus "normal" images (although I can easily teach you how to achieve this consistently). This is for those who really want to push themselves, take risks and take their photography to the next level. I will show you how to find images that may not be immediately obvious to the untrained eye and much more besides in conjunction with learning about how to take mindful approach.
Visitors reading this who are interested please get in touch via the contact page above or any of my social media channels. As long as you can speak english to a reasonably good standard please provide information on who you are, where you reside, your experience level, destinations that interest you and specific animals, sea life and landscapes that you would like to photograph so I can start to put together ideas for locations that will combine great chances of sightings and have good opportunities to photograph in as creative a way as possible. For the really serious amongst you I suggest hiring me as a photographic guide on a private or semi private basis and going to locations where we can work in the field all day to get the maximum out of the freedom of movement and time spent with the wildlife we are seeking to create images of.
Just as I want you to photograph without limits or boundaries I too will entertain any destination if the demand is there whether it is private, semi private or small groups.
I look forward to hearing from you whatever skill level you seek or whatever your photographic goals are.
Joseph Anthony.
